  I was referred to Dr. Advincula in 2001 from my ob-gyn because I was having pelvic pain. Advincula prescribed me pelvic floor physical therapy. My physical therapist found something to be wrong, merely by doing her prescribed work on me, and told me to mention it to Advincula. Upon mentioning to the dr., he told me that she was not a physician and merely prescribed pelvic floor exercises. My pelvic floor was unexplainably weak (no kids), distended, I was barely able to walk and obviously something was wrong. My physical therapist sent messages to him, alerting him. He kept the same opinion. I ended up getting a 2nd opinion in Atlanta-- which resulted in a FIVE HOUR C-SECTION SURGERY because of MAJOR problems from endometriosis. He ended up dropping me as a patient because he thought I had "no problems", although the records didn't show it-- a rude manager told me. I later learned that a number of the physical therapists had that same problem with him-- one of his patients ended up having an appendix rupture because he said that she "was beyond the age that would happen", while another was rushed to the ER because of a torqued ovarian cyst (the therapist told him there was a mass on the ovary, he told her to "do her job as a therapist"). All in all, I'm glad I never went back to see him, worry about those who do, and thank GOD I found Dr. Willis Stephens in Birmingham. PS I would have given him ZERO stars but the system required me to give him at least one.
